A collective autonomy and ecological transition project in the Cévennes.

EXPERIMENT

Test concrete solutions to better face climate, economic and social crises.

PRODUCE & TRANSFORM

Produce vegetables, soft fruits, wood and dreams, then transform them into local resources, shared know-how and collective projects.

TRANSMIT

Techniques and knowledge adapted to the ecological, social and energy challenges ahead.

PERPETUATE

A resource place for territorial autonomy by ensuring its common use over time.

With whom?

A project led by several local associations and collectives — Cévennes 2050, Fruits Oubliés and biodiversity in the Cévennes as well as Terres Vivantes en Cévennes — gathered within the association Cerise for this project.

With the support of a network of partners involved in the social and solidarity economy.

For whom?

Everyone!
An open resource place to come learn and train, for individuals as well as professionals.

With particular attention paid to young people and to people affected by food and energy insecurity.

How?

🌾 Give access to land for farmers
🏠 Rehabilitate housing for farmers and project leaders
🤝 Offer welcoming spaces
🔧 Create shared spaces and workshops
📚 Develop accessible trainings and tools around autonomy
⚖️ Maintain a collegial governance to ensure a sustainable and shared place

Where?

At the Cambon farm, along the Gardon river in Mialet (Gard, France).
A typical Cévenol farm with 14 ha of terraces and forest, springs, basins and a building of more than 300 m².

More precisely: the area covers cadastral plots 90, 91, 128, 129, 130, 133, 134, 135, 958, 960, 963 and 965, along the Gardon river, surrounded by the Cévenol forest.

Buying the Cambon will be act 1 of a solidarity land trust in the Cévennes

We want to create a land trust, non-profit, managed by local inhabitants. It will help develop activities that bring the territory to life. Because access to land is a major issue in the Cévennes.
